A panel discussion on 'Energy, Finance, and Rural Entrepreneurship for rural ICT centres' was held at Jacaranda Hall, IHC, New Delhi. The eminent panellists - drawn from the fields of energy, finance, and rural entrepreneurship - included Mr Satyan Mishra (Drishtee), Lt Col H S Bedi (TulipIT), Dr Veena Joshi (SDC), Ms Akanksha Chaurey (TERI), Mr I H Rehman (TERI), and Dr Uday Nirgudkar (IL&FS). Mr R Chandrashekar, Additional Secretary, DIT, gave the keynote address.

Dr Leena Srivastava explained TERI's approach towards promoting ICTs in rural India. Participants represented industry, government, NGOs, bi-laterals, and multi-laterals working in the three sectors mentioned above. The panel was moderated by Dr Basheer Ahmed Shadrach, Senior Programme Manager, Telecenters.org, IDRC.
