TERI in its initiatives would like to partner with other organizations
to accelerate its sustainable rural development efforts so that
they bring about a change in the socio-economic condition of the
rural masses.
Support partners: These are
the partners without whose support a massive and significant initiative
can never take off. These partners believe in a model that has long-term
implications. These partners will be required to provide funding
for surveys, research, content development, hardware and logistics,
manpower, and mobilization of resources. These partners offer products
and services and believe in the value chain. Organizations working
in the fields of education, finance, fast-moving consumer goods,
health care, communications, and so on are welcome to partner us
and help us in generating rural livelihood.
Service partners:These partners use the rural network
to offer their products and services that may be fee or non-fee
based. The products or services may be for value addition to the
rural community or for providing economic incentives to the rural
community through the rural kiosks. Such partners may be organizations
advocating HIV/AIDS or polio awareness or organizations selling
mobile cash cards or seeds/fertilizers. Institutes or universities
who would offer their advice, knowledge, and technology to the rural
community by forming an intellectual think-tank can also play the
role of service partners.
Corporate houses: TERI can also partner with corporate
houses that would like to go the extra mile towards creating an
impact in rural development through their CSR (corporate social
responsibility) initiatives. These corporate houses can adopt villages,
giving opportunity of self-employment to local youth and women by
donating computers and facilitating connectivity for the rural community.
Following CSR activities can be undertaken by the corporate houses.
